People often get confused about the Everest helicopter tour with Kala Patthar landing and just the overfly tour. Not every Everest Helicopter tour includes a landing at Kala Patthar; some flights only hover above EBC and return. Due to its high altitude, safety rules, and weight restrictions, there are many variations in the Everest helicopter tour.
That is why it is necessary to understand the plans, the Kala Patthar Landing, and the overfly tour before booking. Here are the options available with different operational plans and group sizes for Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour:
If you are solo and looking for travelers with the same interests, group joining is a great choice. You get to tour with new travel friends and share a memory for a lifetime. It is also a great practical choice if you want a cost-effective helicopter tour to Everest. Group joining options give excellent value for the entire Everest Heli tour.
In a group joining tour, the mid-stops are Lukla, Hotel Everest View (HEV) and Pheriche. HEV and Pheriche are the place, where your group splits and rejoins to maintain the carry capacity of 220kg total near EBC. It is to ensure safe operation at an altitude of 4000 meters.
This option is for travelers who want to have reserved flights only for their own groups. It is best for families, friend groups, or professional groups. You follow the same route, and the group size is flexible. The stops are at Lukla and Hotel Everest View for group splits only. There is no Kala Patthar Landing.
(However, if you require Kala Patthar Landing, it is totally optional with the extra charges.)
For those who prefer a helicopter experience with Kala Patthar landing, this is the best option. With the landing at the best Everest viewpoint, the experience is more personal and exclusive. This is best for couples, photographers, people on special occasions and anyone who wants to experience Mount Everest with their own eyes!
In this Heli plan, only 2 passengers fly at a time from Lukla. If there are more members, other passengers wait and fly in turns.
(Note: The Kala Patthar landing tour costs more than the regular plans due to the necessary extra shuttle flights, extra fuel consumption, and longer aerial time. Still, we provide the best possible price that suits your tour and gives the best value. Kindly contact us via Whatsapp or Email for more details)

It is operated in almost every season from Spring, summer, autumn, to monsoon. As each season brings out a different beauty of nature, here is a short guide on what kind of experience you get during each period:
Spring (March-May): If you are anyone with love for blooming, colorful nature, and great mountain views, this is the best time for you. During this period, the temperature remains warm, and there are clear mountain views with stable weather.
Autumn(September-December) : This is another peak season for both the Heli tour and treks in Everest. As it is the post-monsoon period, the ambience is refreshed and has vibrant beauty. You can view the great mountains clearly with smooth flight operation.
Winter(January-February): Experiencing Everest Heli in winter is incredibly beautiful as the snow covers the Khumbu valley. With the coolness in the air, you can see the mountains fully covered in snow, making it a great and eye-catching sight.
Monsoon(June-August): Although the EBC Heli tour during the monsoon has less favorable weather, it is still possible.Β There are chances of rescheduling or flight delays. However, even with the brief opening weather you see lush forest, hills, and washed mountains.

Over packing is a common mistake that travelers often commit out of excitement. While packing, make sure there are only the necessary items. You must not pack more than 10 kgs per person. Make sure you skip heavy gear and carry light items like hats, scarves, sunglasses, or snacks
