Short Poonhill Trek is a wonderful journey ideal for families, beginners, and trekkers with limited time. In a short period, you get to experience the beauty of the Annapurna region and its culture. Short Poonhill Trek – 07 Days Itinerary
01
Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu (1350M/4430Ft)
Welcome to the country of the Himalayas! As you land at the airport and get off, our representative warmly welcomes you and assists with your arrival. Then, accompany you to your hotel in a private vehicle. During this time, we’ll let you know about the trip meeting time and location.
Once the check-in procedure is complete, feel free to rest, prepare for the trip, or enjoy a walk around the area if the time permits!

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Ulleri (2060M/6755FT) via Pokhara, Distance: 270 Km, Duration: 7-8 Hours
This is a long drive before you start your trek and begin the journey in the Annapurna region. The drive continues from the Prithvi highway, leaving the city behind, connecting to the riverside roads with green hills.
Following the Trishuli River, the landscapes offer stunning views of terrace fields and countryside villages. Reaching Pokhara, it is a beautiful city with stunning Phewa Lake view. After that, driving towards Ulleri, the roads get narrow, climb through forest paths, and pass by small local villages. Then reaches Ulleri, a picturesque village with stone-made houses offering a warm welcome and hospitality to the trekkers.

Day 03: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (2860M/9380FT), Distance: 10 Km, Duration: 6 Hours
The journey continues on stone and forested trails scented with pine trees, colorful rhododendrons, and Oak trees. Soft mosses and lichens hang on the rocks and trees, providing richness in the forest. During spring, the flowers are in full bloom, covered with attractive colors of scarlet and pink.
Enjoy your wonderful hike following small waterfalls, streams, and crossing a wooden bridge. En route, you reach the teahouses of Banthanti and Nangethanti. Then, the ascent continues, but at a gradual pace. You might encounter Langur monkeys in the forest that stare with curiosity.
As you are reach Ghorepani, if the weather is clear, you can see the thin lines of Mount Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Tukuche Peak (6,920m) and Annapurna South (7,219m). It is a lively hub of trekkers, which is divided into two parts, Upper Ghorepani and Lower Ghorepani. If you have time, you can take a short walk around the area and explore the village.

Day 04: Hike to Poonhill (3210M/10530Ft) Back to Ghorepani, and Trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani (2630M/8625Ft), Distance: 11 Km
It is an interesting day as you are about to hike to one of the popular viewpoints of Annapurna, Poonhill. You start the morning hike to the viewpoint through a forested and misty trail. The Poonhill is known for its stunning 360-degree panoramic mountain views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Hiunchuli, Nilgiri, and Manaslu. Enjoying the Mountain View with sunrise is one of the best experiences in this Annapurna journey.
After enjoying the moment, you return to Ghorepani and ascend further on the path to the next stop, Tadapani. On the way, there is Deurali Pass, where you can enjoy a short break and marvel at the stunning landscape. Continuing the path takes you into the steep descent to Banthanti and takes you to your stop at Tadapani.

Day 05: Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk (2012M/6600Ft), Distance: 6.5 Km, Duration: 3 Hours and Drive to Pokhara (822M/2700Ft), Duration: 2 Hours
The trail on this day is a scenic descent from the dense forest ridges and stone trails to the traditional Gurung Village of Ghandruk. You can explore the narrow stone alleys of the village, the Gurung Culture Museum, traditional houses, and well-maintained home gardens.
As the journey continues from Tadapani, you slowly exit the thinning forest of bamboo groves, Rhododendrons, and mosses. With the thinning forest, you can see stunning views of Annapurna South (7,219m) and Machhapuchhre (6,997m) from areas around Ghandruk village. These are the final steps you take before finishing it with the scenic drive to Pokhara. The trekking journey on foot is completed with a left connection with the path you stepped on. You can enjoy the quality time after the trek in beautiful city of Pokhara.

Day 06: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu, Distance: 200 Km, Duration: 6 Hours
You leave the lakeside city of Pokhara and approach the capital, Kathmandu today by tourist bus. The drive begins at the city side, passes by the hillside road along the river, and connects to Kathmandu. Enjoy your drive, landscapes, and talk about the experiences you got during the trek!

Day 07: Farewell/Departure
