Overview of Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek – 09 Days

Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a quick journey to the Base Camp of Annapurna I (8,091 m), ideal for trekkers today. This package offers everything a classic ABC route has: the beauty of Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre, and the warm hospitality of traditional Gurung and Magar villages.

Beginning with your arrival in Kathmandu, a scenic domestic flight takes you to Pokhara, and then to Jhinu Dada in a drive. From the point you start your trek to ABC, stay at the mid-points at the villages of Jhinu Danda, Chhomrong, Sinuwa, Bamboo, Dovan, Deurali, and reach Annapurna Base Camp.

You ascend from the subtropical forest, terraced farmlands, and rhododendron jungle into the high-altitude zone of the Annapurna Conservation Area. ‘A journey that goes from the low valleys to the glacial lands near Mount Annapurna I, the 10th highest mountain in the world.’

Unlike the compressed packages like the 5-Day ABC Treks on the internet, this 09-day Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek package by Explore Vision Nepal is designed to provide you with the fullest Annapurna Base Camp Experience from your home to back home!

This itinerary includes an overnight stay at Annapurna Base Camp, giving you a sweet opportunity to enjoy a full-fledged sunrise over Annapurna I experience.

Difficulty grade of the Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek

This 9-day Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek is an easy-to-moderate-level high altitude trekking suitable for all age groups. Here is a breakdown of what the trails look like and what challenges you can expect on this journey:

  • There are sections with steep descents and ascents. It includes both stone stairs and forest paths with suspension bridges.
  • As you get higher, the paths get rugged and rocky with exposed rock walls and narrow ridges.
  • Because you cross 3000m altitude on the journey, you are exposed to high altitude on the trek.
  • There are long downhill days that might be heavy on the knees and may require knee pads.

‘Whether you are a first-time visitor to Nepal, a seasoned trekker, or a traveler curious about Nepal Annapurna Base Camp trekking options, this package is crafted to give you maximum mountain experience in the shortest possible time.’

Poon Hill Optional Extension

For trekkers who want to join our extended version, the Poon Hill, Ghorepani detour can be added to your Short Annapurna Base Camp trek or you can explore our classic Annapurna Base Camp Trek package, which operates via Poonhill route. The Poon hill is one of the best viewpoints for mountain panorama in the Annapurna region.

The viewpoint delivers distant, stunning panoramic views of the overall Mount Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Nilgiri ranges. If you want this add-on in your journey, feel free to ask our team for further planning!
