Private Vehicle | FlightHave you ever wanted to witness the majesty of Mount Everest, but hesitated because of the thought of freezing teahouses and shared camp bathrooms? If so, you have come to the right place and we are the right team to guide you.
Your Everest luxury trek begins with two nights at a 5-star hotel in Kathmandu, including a full preparation day for your gear check and briefing. After the mountain flight to Lukla, you trek to Monjo and check into Mountain Lodges of Nepal, Monjo (Yeti Mountain Home), part of the lodge network that defines luxury Nepal trekking. You stay in Mountain Lodges of Nepal (Yeti Mountain Home) again for two nights in Namche Bazaar, then at Rivendell Lodge in Debuche, surrounded by rhododendron forest below Tengboche.
Above Debuche, no true luxury lodges exist. From Dingboche to Gorakshep we book the best available premium lodge in each village, with heated blankets, clean twin rooms, and the most reliable kitchens on the trail. There is a physical reason for this. High villages run on solar power, which fails when clouds roll in, and temperatures drop so far below zero that water pipes freeze and burst, which is why rooms at Lobuche and Gorakshep cannot offer attached bathrooms.
The route we follow is identical to standard EBC. The experience is not.
Exceptional Comfort: The standard Everest Base Camp trek uses basic teahouses with plywood walls, shared squat toilets, and freezing rooms where you must sleep in your down jacket. The luxury version replaces that discomfort with heated electric blankets, proper beds, and private, en-suite bathrooms with hot running water as far as Debuche, followed by the finest available rooms higher up.
Premium Dining: Instead of choosing from a standard, basic laminated menu card, you will enjoy high-quality, multi-course dinners designed to keep your energy levels high.
All-Inclusive Amenities: Rather than being billed by the hour for basic necessities, Wi-Fi access and device charging come completely included at the luxury lodges.
Better Health & Acclimatization: The upgrade does more than just pamper you. Superior nutrition and high-quality, warm sleep measurably improve how your body adjusts to the altitude. Trekkers on luxury EBC itineraries consistently report fewer altitude-related problems than those grinding through cold, basic teahouses.
Expert Leadership: You are also led by senior guides who add depth on Sherpa culture, Himalayan ecology, and mountaineering history rather than simply walking in front.
For travelers who want the magic of the Khumbu Valley, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Monastery, and Base Camp itself without sacrificing rest and recovery, this deluxe Everest Base Camp trek is the right tool for the job.
The Luxury Everest Base Camp (EBC) Trek remains a physically demanding, moderate-to-difficult challenge. While upgraded accommodations significantly improve comfort, the physical requirements for the 130 km round-trip and high-altitude exposure (reaching 5,364 m at Base Camp) cannot be understated.
No ropes, no climbing, no technical skill required. The two real challenges are altitude and consecutive walking days. Above 4,000 meters, reduced oxygen makes even routine effort noticeably harder, which is why this itinerary builds in two acclimatization days, one in Namche (3,440 m) and one in Dingboche (4,410 m), following the climb high, sleep low principle.
Planning a trip for Everest Luxury Trek? To prepare, it is highly recommended to commit to 8-12 weeks of cardiovascular training and hiking with a daypack before you travel to Nepal. You can directly call us for further information.
The Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek replaces basic, crowded teahouses with premium 5-star hotels in Kathmandu and high-end mountain lodges offering private en-suite bathrooms, hot showers, and heated beds. This ensures comfortable acclimatization with gourmet dining and a thrilling helicopter return to skip the arduous downhill trek.
Three things separate this itinerary from the dozens of luxury Everest Base Camp treks on the market.
If 16 days or this style does not fit, these Everest luxury holidays cover the same region differently.
| Trip | Duration | Best For |
| Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return | 12 days | Trek up, fly back from Gorakshep after Kala Patthar, save three descent days |
| Everest Base Camp Heli Trek | 9 to 11 days | Tightest schedules, helicopter handles more transfers |
| Standard Everest Base Camp Trek | 14 to 16 days | The same trail on a budget, clean simple teahouses throughout |
| Luxury Everest View Trek | 7 to 9 days | Namche and Hotel Everest View in Yeti Mountain Home comfort, no extreme altitude, ideal for families with younger children |
We also run luxury base camp tours and luxury trekking Nepal packages in the Annapurna region for premium lodges at gentler elevations. Ask us to compare options against your dates and fitness.
Explore Vision Nepal is a locally owned Everest base camp trekking agency based in Kathmandu, built by guides who have walked these trails for years, not a foreign brand outsourcing your trip to the lowest bidder.
Namaste and welcome to Nepal. As you exit Tribhuvan International Airport, look for our team member holding an Explore Vision Nepal signboard. A private vehicle carries you through Kathmandu’s lively streets to your 5-star hotel, and the drive itself is your first taste of the city: prayer flags, motorbikes, and temple rooftops all at once.
After check-in, the day is yours. Some guests walk around the Hotel to stretch their legs after the long flight; others enjoy the hotel spa and sleep off the jet lag. Both are the right answer. Your briefing happens tomorrow, so tonight carries no obligations.

Today sets your trek up properly. You meet your guide for a detailed briefing covering the route, daily distances, altitude strategy, and what each day actually feels like on the trail. Ask everything. We complete your gear check and hand over your complimentary duffel bag, down jacket, and sleeping bag, rated for the cold nights above Dingboche.
If anything is missing from your kit, Thamel’s gear shops sit minutes away at fair prices, and your guide will come along to stop you from overpaying. We collect your travel insurance copy and settle any balance here, so nothing administrative follows you into the mountains.

The flight to Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Lukla is an experience in itself: a short sloped runway cut into a hillside, with the Himalaya filling every window on approach. Landing here means the trek has truly begun.
From Lukla the trail drops gently toward Chheplung Village, where you catch your first view of Khumbu Yul Lha, a peak so sacred to the Sherpa people that climbing it is forbidden. The path follows the milky-blue Dudh Koshi River through Ghat, Phakding and Toktok villages. Crossing few of prayer-flag-draped suspension bridges is a unique experience of today. By afternoon you reach Monjo at the doorstep of Sagarmatha National Park and check into Yeti Mountain Home: a real bed, an attached bathroom, a hot shower, and a multi-course dinner on your very first mountain night.
Please note: from March to May and September to November, Lukla flights depart from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap, a 4 to 5 hour drive from Kathmandu leaving around 1 to 2 AM. A shared helicopter flying directly from Kathmandu is available as an upgrade at roughly USD 450 per person.

You enter Sagarmatha National Park this morning, a UNESCO World Heritage Site protecting snow leopards, red pandas, Himalayan thar, and some of the most dramatic mountain country on Earth. Past the checkpoint and the riverside village of Jorsalle, the valley narrows to the day’s landmark: the Tenzing Hillary Suspension Bridge, strung high above the river and fluttering with thousands of prayer flags.
Across the bridge begins the famous Namche hill, a steady two-hour climb through pine forest. Take it slowly; your acclimatization discipline starts here. Halfway up, a clearing offers your first possible glimpse of Everest’s summit pyramid if the clouds cooperate. Namche Bazaar appears suddenly, a horseshoe of colorful buildings stacked in a natural amphitheater. This is the capital of the Sherpa world and your home for two nights at Yeti Mountain Home, the finest lodge in town.

Acclimatization does not mean lying down. Today follows climb high, sleep low: you hike to Hotel Everest View at 3,880 meters, listed among the highest placed hotels in the world, and drink coffee on a terrace facing Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and the impossibly elegant Ama Dablam. It is one of the best effort-to-reward ratios anywhere in the Himalaya. Before heading up to HEV, you will shortly visiting the Sagarmatha National Park headquarters and visitor centre located at the top of Namche Bazaar.
If your legs feel good, continue to Khumjung village for the Hillary School and Khumjung Monastery with its famous yeti scalp. In the afternoon, you can explore the town and can test the town’s bakeries. A second night at 3,440 meters after touching 3,880 is exactly what your body needs.

This is one of the beautiful day on the trek route to EBC. The trail contours high above the Dudh Koshi on a balcony path with Ama Dablam, Everest, Lhotse, Kangtega, and Thamserku arranged ahead of you for hours. Watch for musk deer in the forest sections, and keep to the hillside when yak trains pass.
After the teahouses at Kyangjuma, the path drops to the river at Phungi Thanga, then climbs through rhododendron and juniper to Tengboche Village, home of the largest monastery in the Khumbu, known as ‘Tengboche Monastery’. If timing allows, you may quietly observe the monks’ afternoon prayer ceremony with Ama Dablam framed behind the hall. About 15 minutes below the monastery, the forest quiet of Debuche holds your lodge: Rivendell Lodge, where the only sounds are wind, river, and the occasional monastery horn.

The morning trail crosses the Imja Khola and climbs to Pangboche, home of Pal Rilbu Gompa, the oldest monastery anywhere in the Khumbu, watching over the valley for centuries. Above Pangboche, the trees give up. You walk into open alpine country where the Imja River roars below, yaks graze between stone walls, and Himalayan tahr watch from the slopes. The settlements shrink to a few houses each at Somare and Orsho, and the air thins with every hour. Probably, your lunch break will be at Somare village today.
Dingboche announces itself with a patchwork of walled potato and buckwheat fields at 4,410 meters, the highest farming village on the trail. From tonight, we book the best available premium lodge in each village, with heated blankets and twin rooms.

The hardest-working rest day in Nepal. The climb to Nangkartshang gains more than 600 meters on a steep, honest trail, and it pays you back with the most underrated viewpoint on the route: Makalu, the world’s fifth highest mountain, visible nowhere else on this trek, standing on the eastern horizon beside Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Cholatse, and Taboche.
There is no rush. Climb slowly, rest often, and turn around at any height that feels right; even halfway delivers the acclimatization benefit your body came for. Touching 5,000 meters today is not necessary for the acclimatization, if you are happy to do only half way about 4,700-4,800 meters elevation, will be perfectly fine preparation for Base Camp. The afternoon belongs to Dingboche’s bakeries or just rest at the guesthouse and an early night.

The trail climbs gently along the long wide valley rim to Thukla, where a short, steep pull, the challenging section of the day brings you to the most moving place on the route: the Thukla Pass memorials. Dozens of stone chortens honor climbers and Sherpas who died on Everest, including Scott Fischer and Babu Chiri Sherpa. Trekkers naturally fall quiet here. Take the time it deserves.
Beyond the pass, the terrain turns lunar. You walk beside the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier through country where only the toughest plants survive, with Pumori, Nuptse, and Cholatse crowding the skyline, until Lobuche’s small cluster of lodges appears at 4,910 meters.
An honest note about tonight and tomorrow night: rooms are comfortable with heated blankets, but bathrooms are shared. At this altitude, plumbing freezes and lodges run on unreliable solar power, so attached bathrooms are physically impossible to maintain. Every operator faces this. Not every operator tells you.

The biggest day of the trek, and the one you will retell for the rest of your life. The morning route to Gorakshep rolls constantly over glacial moraine, and at this altitude even small rises steal your breath, so the pace stays deliberately slow. Gorakshep, the last settlement before Base Camp at 5,080 meters, sits beneath Pumori. You drop your duffel, eat an early lunch, and head out with only your daypack.
The trail to Everest Base Camp follows the rock and ice of the Khumbu Glacier for about two hours. Then the famous painted boulder appears, and beyond it the Khumbu Icefall tumbles down from the Western Cwm in frozen chaos. In spring, hundreds of expedition tents fill the site as teams prepare for summit attempts. You are standing at 5,364 meters on the exact ground where Everest climbs begin. Photos taken and the moment absorbed, you return to Gorakshep for a celebration dinner and the highest sleep of your life.

A headlamp start around 4:30 AM for the highest point of your trek. The climb up Kala Patthar is short but relentless in the thin, freezing air. Then the sun crests the ridge and sets Everest, Nuptse, and Pumori alight in gold, and every cold step becomes worth it. Base Camp itself hides Everest behind Nuptse; Kala Patthar is where the full summit view lives, which is why this sunrise, not Base Camp, produces the photographs you have seen your whole life.
Descend to Gorakshep for a well-earned breakfast, then begin the long walk down. Losing altitude feels like a gift: each hour brings thicker air, and by the wide, windswept valley of Pheriche at 4,240 meters, your appetite and energy have visibly returned. Pheriche also hosts the Himalayan Rescue Association’s high-altitude clinic, a reassuring neighbor for the night.

A long, satisfying descent retracing the trail through Pangboche and Tengboche, this time with the views at your back and gravity on your side. The rhododendron forest below Tengboche feels almost tropical after a week above the tree line. Namche welcomes you back like an old friend; after days of high-altitude simplicity, its bakeries and coffee feel like a metropolis. Celebrate with a hot shower and sleep once more in the comfort of Yeti Mountain Home.

Today is the final trail day, and the longest by distance. The steep Namche hill drops you quickly to the Hillary Bridge, and the route recrosses the swaying suspension bridges of the Dudh Koshi valley through Monjo, Phakding, and Chheplung, villages that now feel familiar. The last climb of the entire trek is the short rise into Lukla, and after Kala Patthar it always draws a smile.
The evening traditionally becomes a small celebration with your guide and porter, and it is the customary moment to hand over tips (expected but not mandatory) and thank the crew who carried your trek on their shoulders.

This day exists because Lukla weather answers to no schedule. Flights delay and cancel in every season, and this buffer protects your international connection. It is the mark of a responsibly built itinerary; shorter packages that skip it quietly transfer that risk to you.
If your trek ran on time, the day is a bonus: souvenir shopping in Thamel, a spa afternoon, or optional guided sightseeing in Bhaktapur or Patan, arranged on request. In the evening, join us for a farewell dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant with a cultural program, our thank-you for trekking with Explore Vision Nepal.

Your day starts around 6:30-7 AM with tea and a fresh breakfast in a warm dining hall facing snow-capped peaks. You walk 3 to 4 hours at a deliberate pace while your guide shares stories of Local culture, Buddhist/Hindu tradition, and Himalayan Mountains, then break for a hot lunch at a trail-side lodge. The afternoon adds 2 to 3 more hours, with daily distances ranging from 5 to 15 km depending on terrain.
You reach the lodge by mid-afternoon, where hot refreshments and snacks wait. Evenings mean a multi-course dinner, your guide’s short briefing on tomorrow’s route, and an early night under a heated blanket. On acclimatization days, optional hikes replace the trail miles. Every element balances effort with recovery so you arrive at Base Camp strong rather than drained.

Across reputable operators, luxury Everest Base Camp trek prices run between USD 3,500 and 5,500 per person for a 14 to 16 day itinerary, depending on group size, season, lodge tier, and helicopter inclusions. Our 16-Day Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek package costs USD 2,990.00 per person on two people basis and its costs USD 2,860.00, per person for group of six to nine people, likewise, Luxury EBC Trek costs only USD 2,790.00 per person for group of ten or more people, covering flights, permits, luxury lodges, full board on the trek, guide, and porter, with group discounts available.
Recommended budget an additional NPR 25,000 to 40,000 in cash for personal extras: Wi-Fi cards above Namche, hot showers at higher lodges, snacks, drinks, and souvenirs. Withdraw cash in Kathmandu before flying out; ATMs in Namche fail often and none exist higher.
Any trekker on this itinerary can convert the descent into a helicopter return, flying from Gorakshep or Pheriche directly to Kathmandu after the Kala Patthar sunrise. This shortens the trip to about 12 days, replaces three walking days with a short flight over the entire Khumbu, and gives you an aerial view of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, the Icefall, and every village you walked through. Shared and private charter rates are quoted at booking. It is our most requested upgrade.
Two permits are required and both come included.
During peak months (March to May, October to November), Lukla flights depart from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap, requiring a drive from Kathmandu that leaves around 1 to 2 AM. Off-peak, flights go directly from Kathmandu in about 35 minutes. Weather delays happen in every season.
If a flight cancels, you either fly the next morning using the built-in reserve day, or upgrade to a shared helicopter at about USD 500 per person; helicopters fly in visibility as low as 1.5 km, so they often operate when planes cannot.
Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is the trek’s most serious risk. Above 3,500 meters, reduced oxygen can bring headaches, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, poor appetite, and shortness of breath. Our defense is structural: acclimatization days at Namche (3,440 m) and Dingboche (4,410 m), climb high sleep low hikes to Everest View Hotel and Nangkartshang Peak, gradual daily gains, and a guide who measures your oxygen saturation every evening with a pulse oximeter and carries access to supplemental oxygen.
Your part: walk slowly, drink 3 to 4 liters daily, eat well, skip alcohol and sedatives, and report any symptom early rather than pushing through. Never ignore early signs. In serious cases, we descend immediately and arrange helicopter evacuation. Diamox (acetazolamide) works as a preventive for many trekkers; discuss it with your doctor before travel.
The Khumbu is Sherpa homeland, and this trail runs through living villages, not museum sets. In Namche Bazaar, the weekly market still draws traders from surrounding valleys, and the Sherpa Culture Museum tells the story of the mountaineering families whose names fill every Everest history book. On your acclimatization day you can extend the Everest View Hotel hike to Khumjung, home of the Hillary School and a monastery whose monks keep what they believe is a yeti scalp.
At Tengboche, the region’s largest monastery holds afternoon prayer ceremonies that trekkers may quietly observe. In Pangboche, the trail passes Pal Rilbu Gompa, the oldest monastery in the entire Khumbu. Between villages you walk past mani walls and prayer wheels, always on the left as tradition asks, and your guide will explain why.
Your Explore Vision Nepal guide grew up inside this culture, and that changes the trek. You will not just photograph the chortens; you will understand what the carved mantras mean, why yak bells matter, and how a trekking economy reshaped Sherpa life within two generations.
Accommodation in Kathmandu: Two nights before the trek and two after at a 5-star hotel with breakfast, on a bed and breakfast basis. The final evening includes a farewell dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant with a cultural program.
Accommodation on the trail: Yeti Mountain Home (Mountain Lodges of Nepal)0 in Monjo (one night) and Namche (three nights total across ascent and descent), Rivendell Lodge in Debuche, and best available premium lodges with heated blankets in Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep, Pheriche, and Lukla. Luxury lodges include hot showers, charging, and Wi-Fi. At Lobuche and Gorakshep, bathrooms are shared, for the frozen-plumbing reasons explained above. We say it here so nothing on the trail surprises you.
Meals: Full board on the trek. Luxury lodge dinners arrive as multi-course sets: soup, a main, dessert, and tea or coffee. Main courses mix Nepali and international dishes, Dal Bhat, Momos, Sherpa stew, Thukpa, Pasta, Fried rice, Potatoes, and seasonal vegetables, with fresh fruit after dinner where available.
We recommend mostly vegetarian meals above Namche, since meat travels up the valley unrefrigerated and vegetarian food is fresher and easier to digest at elevation. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets are handled comfortably with advance notice; tell us when booking and remind your guide on Day 2.
Drinking water: Dehydration accelerates altitude sickness, so aim for 3 to 4 liters daily. We provide purification treatment for spring water, and boiled water is available at every lodge. Herbal teas, ginger lemon honey, and soups all count toward your intake.
Skip tap water, untreated stream water, and bottled water; the last is expensive up high and leaves plastic in the mountains. Go easy on caffeine and skip alcohol entirely until you are back in Namche.
Spring and autumn are the two prime windows, and each has a distinct personality.
| Season | Months | Daytime Temp (lower elevations) | What You Get |
| Spring | March to May | 10 to 20°C | Rhododendron blooms, Everest summit season, expedition tents at Base Camp |
| Autumn | September to November | 8 to 17°C | The clearest skies of the year, sharpest views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam |
| Winter | December to February | Around 5°C, nights below minus 15°C | Empty trails, crisp views, serious cold, some high lodges closed |
| Monsoon | June to August | Around 10°C | Rain, leeches, clouds, frequent Lukla cancellations, not recommended |
Spring is the most popular season for EBC luxury trekking, and it is the only time you will see Base Camp alive with expedition teams preparing for the summit. Autumn wins on pure visibility, with post-monsoon air delivering the panoramic views the Khumbu is famous for. Nights above 4,000 meters drop to minus 10°C or lower in both prime seasons, which is exactly why heated blankets and our provided down jackets and sleeping bags matter.
One practical note for both peak seasons: Lukla flights operate from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap, a 4 to 5 hour drive from Kathmandu departing around 1 to 2 AM. A shared helicopter flying directly from Kathmandu is available for roughly USD 450 per person each way if you prefer to skip the drive.
Stay on the hillside, never the cliff edge, when yaks, zopkyos, or mule trains pass. Do not walk after dark, which risks falls, animal encounters, and hypothermia. Move quickly through marked landslide sections.
Weather in the high Khumbu changes fast, so carry your warm layers and shell every day regardless of the morning sky. Flying drones requires special government permission; without it, drone use is illegal and confiscation is real, so talk to us first if filming matters to you.
For any trek in the Everest region, having the right travel insurance isn’t just a recommendation, it is an absolute necessity for your safety. However, the insurance is not required to obtain trekking permits in Everest region so far.
We normally recommend, your policy must cover high-altitude trekking to at least 6,000 meters and helicopter evacuation. Policies bundled with airline tickets almost never do. We collect a copy at the Day 2 briefing, and if evacuation ever becomes necessary, we handle documentation, receipts, and airline letters to support your claim.
The EBC trail carries some of the best connectivity of any trekking route in Nepal, and it thins as you climb. Ncell and Nepal Telecom SIM cards bought in Kathmandu give solid 4G and 3G through Lukla, Phakding, Namche and until Dingboche.
Up in the higher villages like Lobuche and Gorak Shep, localized mesh networks like Everest Link and AirLink become the primary way to access the internet. Lodges sell physical prepaid cards for these networks, with typical costs ranging between $16 to $25 USD for a data block (10 GB to 20 GB) depending on the exact altitude and retailer.
Beyond Dingboche, expect coverage to fade. For your safety, reliable emergency communication travels with your guide at all times, independent of the cellular network.
Domestic flights to Lukla strictly enforce a luggage limit of 15 kg (33 lbs) per person, which includes both your main duffel bag and your daypack.
Your assigned porter will carry up to 25 kg (53 lbs – in between two people) of your gear. This main gear should be packed in the duffel bag provided by the company (Explore Vision Nepal); you carry a 20 to 30 liter daypack with water, layers, camera, and valuables, since your porter walks ahead. Store everything else free at your Kathmandu hotel and collect it after the trek.
Any extra clothes, travel gear, or items you do not need on the mountain can be stored for free at your hotel in Kathmandu
Prior trekking experience is not mandatory for your Luxury Everest Trek, though it helps. Beginners complete this trek regularly with our senior guides providing constant support and monitoring.
Start training two to three months out: cardio (stair climbing, jogging, cycling), strength and flexibility work, and weekly hikes of 4 to 6 hours with a loaded daypack. Break in your boots completely before arrival.
A pre-trek medical check-up is smart for anyone with underlying conditions, since altitude exposes what sea level hides. Mental preparation counts as much as physical; steady patience beats raw fitness on the trail of Luxury Everest Trek Nepal.
Teenagers in good condition regularly complete the full trek with proper preparation and careful monitoring, and our family-friendly guides adapt pace and storytelling to keep younger trekkers engaged.
For children under 12, we recommend a modified itinerary turning around at Namche, Tengboche, or Dingboche, or our luxury Everest View trek, rather than pushing to 5,364 meters. The premium lodges make family trekking far more workable: private rooms, hot meals, heating, and a secure environment.
Solo travelers, including solo women, trek safely on this fully guided route, and we run private departures for any group size from one person up. We are a luxury Nepal trekking Kathmandu company with our whole operations team in one office, so solo trekkers get the same direct attention as large groups.
If you value recovery, safety, and sleep, yes. The extra cost buys the difference between shivering in a plywood room at minus 10 and sleeping warm at Yeti Mountain Home, and better rest measurably improves acclimatization. The price also removes every piece of logistical stress: permits, flights, transfers, lodges, meals, and health monitoring all run without your involvement, leaving you nothing to do but walk and look up.
Trekkers who choose the Luxury Everest Trek Nepal format reach Base Camp with lower AMS rates and better memories of the journey, not just the destination. If minimum spend is the priority, take our standard EBC package instead; the mountain is the same.
General
It is the classic 16-day trek to Everest Base Camp upgraded with 5-star Kathmandu hotels and the best lodges in the Khumbu, including Yeti Mountain Home and Rivendell Lodge, plus senior guides, richer meals, complimentary gear, and daily health monitoring throughout.
Market prices for luxury Everest Base Camp treks range from about USD 3,500 to 5,500 per person. Our 16-day package costs USD 2,990 per person for two people group size and It costs USD 2,860 per person for six to nine people group size, covering permits, flights, luxury lodges, full board on the trek, guide, and porter. Helicopter upgrades cost extra.
The route is identical. The luxury version adds 5-star Kathmandu hotels, named luxury lodges with attached bathrooms and hot showers through Debuche, heated blankets and the best available rooms higher up, multi-course meals, and senior guides. The standard trek uses basic teahouses with shared facilities throughout.
Yes, you can. A helicopter return from Gorakshep or Pheriche after the Kala Patthar sunrise shortens the trip to about 12 days and is our most requested upgrade. Shared and private options exist; ask for current rates when booking.
The best itineraries share three features: at least two acclimatization days, named lodges rather than vague promises, and a built-in reserve day for Lukla weather. Our 16-day plan includes all three, which is why we consider it the safest luxury route to Base Camp.
Yes. Removing the Kathmandu preparation day and the reserve day creates a 14-day itinerary for confident trekkers with flexible international flights. We recommend the full 16 days for first-time high-altitude trekkers.
It describes what every honest luxury EBC itinerary actually is: true luxury lodges as far as Debuche, then the best available premium lodges above, since no genuine luxury properties survive beyond that elevation. Our package follows this structure and says so openly.
No. Good fitness, two to three months of training, and a willingness to walk 5 to 7 hours daily are enough. Our guides handle everything else, and beginners complete this trek with us regularly.
Completely. Extra rest days, a Gokyo extension, helicopter segments, private departures, and pace changes are all available. Tell us what you want and we build the plan around it.
Insurance & Visa
Yes. Most nationalities receive a visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. Bring a passport valid six months beyond entry, one blank page, and cash or card for the fee. Completing the online form beforehand saves queue time.
Weather & Seasons
March to May and September to November. Spring adds rhododendron blooms and live expedition activity at Base Camp; autumn delivers the clearest mountain views of the year.
Booking & Payment
A 15% deposit confirms your dates; the balance is payable in Kathmandu by cash or card at the briefing. Deposits are non-refundable on cancellation, but we convert them into full trip credit with no expiry for any future trek with us.
Transportation & Flight
You either fly the next morning using the built-in reserve day, or upgrade to a shared helicopter at about USD 450 per person to hold your schedule. Helicopters operate in far lower visibility than planes, so they frequently fly when fixed-wing flights cannot.
